It is a matter of immense pleasure and pride that Pakistani-Dutch community is celebrating Pakistan Mela 2010. Such festivals bring communities together and deepen our bonds through cultural and sports interaction.

I congratulate the organizers for their commendable efforts to enrich the Festival 2010 through multiple sports, a bouquet of cultural colors, Pakistani food and music. I note that there is some attraction for every age group, from youth and children to women and the community at large.

I am happy that the Festival is being organized as a voluntary undertaking on no-profit-no-loss basis, and is essentially a service to the Pakistani and other communities living in the Netherlands. For its part, the Embassy of Pakistan is pleased to cooperate with this endeavour. I have asked Commercial Counsellor Muhammad Ashraf to extend every possible help in this regard.

I wish the organizers well and the participants of the Festival happy time.
